The Explorers Club has launched the applications for Rising Explorer Grant.
The Explorers Club is proud of its history and also looks toward the future by recognizing the importance of new ideas and avenues of exploration. The Club is deeply committed to supporting the fieldwork of serious researchers and, as part of its public service commitment, offers exploration grants to High School Students and College Undergraduates as a way to help get their expedition science career off the ground, and out in to the field!
The Rising Explorer Grant is made possible through The Explorers Club's Youth Activity Fund, which has supported student field work for more than 60 years.
Funding Information
This program focuses on providing funding to high school and undergraduate students; the average award is approximately $1,500.
How they define field science for Explorers Club Granted Expeditions?
Field science consists of expeditions that collect data in order to add to the scholarship, or knowledge in a given discipline, bound for peer reviewed publication. Relevant disciplines include, but are not limited to – anthropology, archaeology, wildlife, botany, earth sciences, marine and freshwater research, ecology, geography, paleontology. Priority will be given to expeditions tackling ambitious research questions over survey data. Uniqueness and rarity of the data collected will be taken into account.
Eligibility
Rising Explorer Grant – Open to high school students, college undergraduates, and independent researchers doing scientific field work at an equivalent level.
