Submit Applications for Small-Scale Projects 2026 (Cambodia)
About
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Phnom Penh has announced its annual call for proposals for Small-Scale Projects (SSP) for 2026.
These projects are a vital component of the Czech Republic's Development Cooperation, complementing larger, multi-year initiatives managed by the Czech Development Agency. Since 2006, SSPs have supported local entities in Cambodia, aiming to foster sustainable development and address pressing community needs.
Eligible projects should align with Cambodia's National Development Strategy and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals. Priority areas include inclusive social development—particularly in health and education—and natural resources management, focusing on water and sanitation. Proposals that incorporate Czech expertise or products are encouraged, as the Czech government seeks to promote its know-how and foster international cooperation. Projects should also emphasize gender equality, environmental sustainability, and climate resilience.
The funding range for each project is between 200,000 CZK (approximately 9,000 USD) and 500,000 CZK (approximately 23,000 USD). Applicants are encouraged to seek co-funding from other sources, though the Czech contribution is capped at the specified limits. Overhead costs, including salaries, travel, and accommodation, must not exceed 25% of the total project budget. Administrative costs are not eligible for funding.
Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must be non-political, non-governmental organizations with legal status in Cambodia. The implementing entity should be capable of signing a contract with the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, adhering to Czech laws and jurisdiction. While local civil society organizations are the primary recipients, international organizations working with local partners on community-based projects may also qualify.
Proposals must include a completed Identification Form, signed and stamped, along with a copy of the document proving the applicant's legal status in Cambodia. All submissions should be made in hard copy to the Embassy and electronically to the provided email address.
Successful applicants will enter into a contract with the Embassy, with project implementation expected to commence in March 2026 and conclude by 15th October 2026. Final reports and financial documents must be submitted promptly after project completion. For assistance or inquiries, interested parties can contact the Development Cooperation Coordinator at the Embassy.
