Small Grants Programme Supporting Forcibly Displaced Women and Children
About
The Al Madad Foundation Small Grants Programme offers an opportunity for small and emerging charities to build their organisational capacity while implementing projects that support forcibly displaced women and children.
The programme’s focus areas include building skills in proposal writing, project development, monitoring and evaluation, delivering creative and innovative solutions to problems facing forcibly displaced women and children, and strengthening administrative and programmatic capacities of emerging civil society institutions. The thematic priority is “Building women’s ability to provide for their families and act as agents of change in their communities.” Projects will be implemented in Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt, with grants of up to £10,000 available (five grants in total).
Through the initiative, recipients will receive tailored training via webinars and video calls, using reference materials, sample documents, and templates designed to meet the specific needs of each organisation. Following the training, AMF will provide ongoing advice and support while the organisations implement their projects, allowing participants to apply their learning in a practical context.
Eligibility for the programme is open to small charities registered and operating in Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt. AMF acknowledges that newer organisations may not have extensive supporting documents such as audited accounts, and is open to alternative verification methods. While the programme may consider projects targeting youth aged 15-24, the primary focus remains on children under 18. Projects that enhance women’s capacity to provide for their families and drive change in their communities are also eligible.
Given that these are small grants, projects with a defined end-point are encouraged, and initiatives that demonstrate the benefits of a particular intervention to a target group may help attract further support from other funders.
Eligibility
Applicants will be evaluated based on the urgency of their project idea, the developmental stage of their organisation, and the demonstrated need and interest in improving their capacity.
