RFAs: University Scholarships for Armenian Students in Developing Countries
About
The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is accepting applications for students of Armenian origin in crisis-stricken countries in the Middle East to complete their undergraduate degree.
The scholarship supports higher education studies in any field, with priority given to undergraduate degrees in the social sciences. The program is mainly intended for undergraduate students, although a limited number of master’s students may also be selected. In exceptional cases, a small number of applications for study abroad may be considered.
Up to 50 new scholarships are awarded each year for a maximum period of three years. Each scholarship provides a fixed funding amount of €4,000 per year, except in cases where tuition fees are reduced. Applicants must be of Armenian origin and residents of Lebanon or another developing country in the Middle East. They must be 25 years of age or younger at the time of application and should demonstrate excellent school or examination results.
Eligibility
Applicants must also be enrolled in or accepted into a higher education institution recognized by national and local authorities. The scholarship is intended for students experiencing financial difficulties. Applicants receiving other scholarships for their degree studies are required to inform the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
