The Australian Embassy is inviting interested organisations to submit applications for grants under the Direct Aid Program (DAP).

The Mongolia DAP will fund projects in 2025-26 that support Australia’s international policy objectives, focusing on Agriculture, Climate Change, Education and Youth, GEDSI, Health and Hygiene, and Human Rights.

All applications must demonstrate that they are not-for-profit. Microcredit schemes, purchase of land and vehicles, recurrent costs including staff salary and non-related administrative expenses, commercial ventures, and activities with direct support from government (noting exceptions above) are not eligible. Proposal budgets cannot exceed a maximum of AUD 30,000 and cannot exceed one year in duration.

Projects must explain clearly the problem, the proposed solution, and exactly how it will be achieved. Projects must demonstrate long-term sustainability, including proper use and maintenance of any equipment and may need to cooperate with relevant professional organisations to ensure effective outcomes. Salary and other recurrent costs are not eligible under DAP, and for-profit organisations cannot apply.

Eligibility

Applications are welcomed from community groups, local and international non-governmental organisations (NGOs), national and local government agencies, not-for-profit educational institutions, and other entities engaged in development activities in Mongolia.

Applicants must submit their applications in English through the DAP online application system by 23:59 on 29 December 2025. Only one application per grant should be submitted and all sections of the application form must be fully completed before sending. Due to the large volume of applications, unsuccessful applicants will not be individually notified.
