Integrated Emergency Program for Child Protection Initiatives (Jordan)

Grant Size €1,675,000   ,   Closing Date

About

The Integrated Emergency Program is seeking grant proposals to enhance the protection and well-being of vulnerable children and families in Jordan facing multiple social and economic risks.

The initiative focuses on contributing to the protection, well-being, and development of vulnerable minors exposed to abuse, exploitation, violence, social exclusion, and school dropout. It aims to promote protection and resilience through integrated care, prevention, response, and family and community strengthening, while addressing critical themes such as protection from abuse, harassment, and exploitation in international aid, inclusion of persons with disabilities, child protection, environmental protection, and accountability to affected people. This program is designed to respond to the challenging context in Jordan, where both refugee and local populations face increasing pressure due to socioeconomic fragility and limited access to essential services. It seeks to strengthen protective systems and provide targeted interventions for children who are particularly at risk.

The duration of project activities can extend up to 21 months. Funding support is available up to €837,500 for projects submitted by a single non-profit entity and up to €1,675,000 for joint projects involving two or more non-profit entities. Eligibility is limited to non-profit entities registered under the relevant legal framework, with demonstrated experience in humanitarian aid and child protection interventions. Applicants must also have the operational capacity to work in Jordan, comply with legal and financial obligations, and maintain a strong record of accountability and ethical conduct in previous project implementations.

The total allocation of funds for the initiatives subject to this call for proposals amounts to €3,500,000, with €3,350,000 dedicated to the Child Protection Sector and €150,000 allocated for administrative costs, ensuring that resources are effectively directed toward protecting and supporting vulnerable children while maintaining transparency and accountability.

Eligibility

The initiative emphasizes supporting children exposed to various forms of vulnerability, including child labor, early marriage, domestic and cyber violence, educational exclusion, institutionalization, disability, psychosocial distress, and family separation. Projects are expected to adopt an inclusive and intersectional approach, considering different forms of discrimination based on gender, age, disability, refugee status, and other conditions. Beneficiary selection must follow established requirements, ensuring that 70 percent of beneficiaries are Syrian refugees and 30 percent are Jordanian citizens. While other vulnerable groups may be included, they cannot be the primary focus of the interventions, and selection must be based on clearly defined vulnerability criteria.
