Urban Futures Call for Partners for Youth and Women Food Systems (Zambia)
About
The Urban Futures Call for Partners (UFCP) aims to select a local partner to spearhead the development, capacity building, and market integration of youth and women-led food system enterprises. Operating from July 2026 to August 2027, this initiative is dedicated to establishing at least 50 new enterprises and strengthening 25 existing ones across production, processing, distribution, retail, consumption, and circular economy activities. With a total funding pool of €200,000, the program focuses on designing structured support packages, delivering technical assistance for climate-adapted practices, and fostering sustainable job creation. The selected partner will drive stakeholder engagement, broker critical linkages with financial institutions, the private sector, and government departments, and closely collaborate with CUTS, GNS, and the Urban Futures AgriConnect Hub to enhance food systems governance and market access for target beneficiaries.
Eligibility
This opportunity is open to legally registered organizations in Zambia that possess established operational experience within the Chongwe District. Eligible applicants must demonstrate proven expertise in youth- and women-focused enterprise development, financial literacy training, mentorship, and climate-resilient agri-food initiatives. Furthermore, candidates will be evaluated on their organizational capacity to manage complex stakeholder coordination, deliver structured capacity-building documentation, implement resource mobilization strategies, and execute rigorous monitoring, learning, and performance tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
