About

The Adaptive Learning Initiative for Integrated WASH–Nutrition Programming under ASWA III and No Time to Waste seeks to strengthen evidence generation, adaptive learning, and operational research to advance integrated water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH) and nutrition programming. Implemented across Mali, Niger, and the United States, the initiative aims to support UNICEF, governments, and development partners in designing, implementing, monitoring, and institutionalizing effective multisectoral approaches that address the interconnected determinants of child nutrition. Through operational learning and knowledge generation, the program will document baseline conditions, assess systems contexts, develop practical integration models, and generate evidence to improve program delivery and systems strengthening. Supported activities include inception and scoping studies, systems mapping, stakeholder engagement, adaptive learning processes, implementation journey documentation, operational research, cross-country knowledge sharing, and the development of a WASH–Nutrition Integration Maturity Framework. The initiative primarily targets children and communities affected by nutrition-related challenges through stronger and more coordinated WASH and nutrition systems. Grant size and project duration were not specified in the call.
