The Marchig Animal Welfare Trust Grants Programme supports projects worldwide (excluding the USA and Canada) that deliver tangible improvements in animal welfare, promote alternatives to animal experimentation, and alleviate animal suffering. The Trust prioritizes practical initiatives such as spay/neuter campaigns, anti-poaching efforts, establishment of veterinary hospitals and clinics, and the development of animal sanctuaries. It places particular emphasis on assisting smaller organizations dedicated to preventing cruelty and reducing suffering. Projects advancing the practical implementation of alternatives to animal experimentation are also a key focus. Grants are awarded to organizations whose work provides a direct and measurable benefit to animals, with funding scope flexible enough to support diverse activities that align with the Trust’s mission.

Eligibility

Applications are accepted from organizations worldwide, except those based in the USA and Canada. Eligible applicants must demonstrate that their projects are directly animal welfare oriented and provide clear benefits to animals. The Trust does not fund requests for vehicles, expeditions, activities not wholly related to animal welfare, educational studies or courses, salary payments, or support for conferences and meetings. Applications must be submitted in English by email and include the applicant’s most recent financial accounts and annual report. Applicants are expected to have sought funding from other grant-making organizations for the same project and may not apply to the Trust’s sister charity, Foundation Marchig, in the same year.
