About
The GEF/UNDP Small Grants Programme (SGP) in Kyrgyzstan is inviting proposals for the funding opportunity titled “Conservation of the Ecosystems of the Inner and Central Tien Shan by Local Communities.” Implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic since 2002, the programme supports community-led initiatives that address environmental challenges and strengthen ecosystem and biodiversity conservation. This call focuses on the Inner and Central Tien Shan, a priority landscape identified under the programme’s strategy for biodiversity and ecosystem protection. Projects should contribute to the conservation and sustainable management of natural resources through local community engagement and nature conservation efforts. Grants are provided through the GEF/UNDP Small Grants Programme, with the grant amount not specified in the call. Supported projects may have a duration of up to 24 months, and grant agreements are expected to be signed by the end of December 2026.
