Community Planning and Environmental Services Payments for Savanna Restoration in DR Congo
About
The Community Planning and Environmental Services Payments for Savanna Restoration Program supports community-based territorial planning and the implementation of Payments for Environmental Services (PES) mechanisms to restore, protect, and sustainably manage savanna and agroforestry landscapes in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The program seeks to reduce deforestation and ecosystem degradation while improving the living conditions of local communities through strengthened natural resource governance, coordinated land-use planning, and ecosystem restoration efforts. Funding will support initiatives that enhance community capacities for planning, managing, and restoring natural resources, promote inclusive local governance, and facilitate effective participation in PES schemes. Grants ranging from EUR 1,000,000 to EUR 1,200,000 are available for projects implemented within the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Eligibility
Applicants must be non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or international intergovernmental organizations (IGOs) that are legally established in, or have an official representation within, the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
