The Wildlife Acoustics Grant Program is inviting applications to support wildlife research, habitat monitoring, and environmental conservation through funding for equipment, software, and travel.

The program focuses on wildlife research advancement, habitat monitoring, environmental conservation, studies of bats, birds, amphibians, and terrestrial wildlife, access to recording equipment and software, conference participation for early-career professionals, and supporting field-based ecological research and data analysis.

The grant program offers multiple funding types including a Standard Product Grant, Software-Only Grant, and a Travel Grant. The Standard Product Grant provides up to $12,000 USD in Wildlife Acoustics products each quarter, with individual applicants able to request up to $4,000 USD in recorders, accessories, and software licenses. The Software-Only Grant provides recipients with annual Kaleidoscope Pro software licenses. The Travel Grant, introduced in 2025, provides up to $1,000 USD to early-career professionals to support conference attendance, including registration, transportation, and lodging.

Eligibility

Eligible accessories include Wildlife Acoustics products designed for Song Meter Mini 2, Mini Bat 2, and Micro 2 devices, while third-party accessories such as SD cards, batteries (excluding lithium-ion), chargers, padlocks, and cable locks are not eligible. Government agencies, both US and non-US, are not eligible to apply. However, non-profit and tax-exempt organizations outside the US are eligible with proper documentation.

The program is open to global applicants working in wildlife research and conservation, with a focus on supporting scientific studies and professional development in ecological fields.
