Call for Applications: Third Party Monitoring for WFP Operations (Burkina Faso)
About
The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking partner organizations to provide third party monitoring services for its food security, nutrition, and education interventions under the Burkina Faso Country Strategic Plan in 2027. The assignment aims to strengthen oversight and accountability of humanitarian activities in areas where security constraints limit direct access for WFP and UN personnel. The selected partner(s) will conduct field-based monitoring and evaluation, verify implementation results, produce regular performance reports, and support related monitoring tasks requested by the regional office. Activities will focus on monitoring school meals, food assistance, nutrition interventions, and conducting food security and market assessments across the regions of Est, Cascades, Hauts-Bassins, Sud-Ouest, and Centre-Est. The initiative targets vulnerable populations benefiting from WFP programming and supports WFP’s commitments to protection, gender equality, and women’s participation. Grant size and project duration have not been specified in the announcement.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are organizations with demonstrated capacity to implement third party monitoring activities in Burkina Faso, particularly within the target regions. Applicants should possess strong local presence and experience, sound project management systems, and the operational ability to access and monitor activities in challenging environments. Proposals will be assessed based on the relevance and clarity of the proposed methodology, monitoring and evaluation expertise, and the integration of innovative approaches such as digital data collection and advanced data visualization. Preference will be given to organizations with previous experience implementing projects with WFP, the United Nations, or similar humanitarian actors. Applicants should also demonstrate their ability to effectively incorporate cross-cutting considerations, including gender equality, protection, and social inclusion, into their monitoring approach.
