The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF), in collaboration with Burung Indonesia, invites Letters of Inquiry from Indonesian civil society organizations to advance biodiversity conservation in the Wallacea Biodiversity Hotspot. The program supports initiatives that reduce threats to priority species, strengthen management of Key Biodiversity Areas and priority landscapes, and promote sustainable natural resource practices led by Indigenous peoples and local communities. Eligible geographic clusters include terrestrial areas in Sangihe-Talaud, Minahasa, South Sulawesi, Halmahera, and Sumba, as well as marine areas in the North Sulawesi Sea Corridor and Solor-Alor. Funding is available through Small Grants up to US$50,000 and Large Grants ranging from US$50,001 to US$150,000, with a maximum project duration of 24 months. Applications for Small Grants must be submitted to Burung Indonesia using the required format, while Large Grant proposals must be submitted through the ConservationGrants portal. Projects must place biodiversity conservation at the core of their objectives or demonstrate a clear conservation link.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include Indonesian non-governmental organizations, community groups, Indigenous peoples’ organizations, women’s groups, private companies, and other civil society entities legally registered under Indonesian law. Applicants must be authorized to receive funds, maintain their own bank account, and demonstrate capacity to implement and report on proposed activities. International organizations, even with locally registered offices, are not eligible. All applicants must ensure that biodiversity conservation is a primary component of their project design or clearly linked to their activities.
