The Green Opportunities Grant (GOG), launched by the King Khalid Foundation, provides financial support to non-profit organizations across the Kingdom to implement community-based projects that equip lower-income groups with functional, professional, and craft skills for accessing green employment and income-generating opportunities. The program emphasizes environmental protection and improved living standards through initiatives in organic farming, ecotourism, recycling, renewable energy, energy conservation services, vegetation cover development, wildlife protection, and broader sustainability practices. Grants are awarded on a small to medium scale, with funding levels determined according to project needs and cost justification. Supported projects must create sustainable pathways for beneficiaries to acquire skills that enable entry into environmentally responsible sectors, while fostering long-term income opportunities and community resilience.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are legally registered non-profit organizations with proven capacity to design and implement environmental and development initiatives. Proposals must clearly outline the professional, functional, craft, or production skills beneficiaries will gain, and demonstrate how the organization will ensure sustainable income opportunities during and after project implementation. Applications from individuals will not be considered. Projects involving cash assistance, home reconstruction or repair, pastoral aid, or the purchase of assets such as appliances, furniture, or vehicles are ineligible. All proposals must be submitted through the designated application platform, adhering to the required process. Evaluation will prioritize accountability, transparency, and alignment with the Foundation’s mission to support the lowest-income groups through skill development and employment opportunities.
