SEARCA 2026 Travel Grants – Call for Applications
About
The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) announces its 2026 Travel Grants Program to support qualified professionals, social scientists, and graduate students across Southeast Asia. The program aims to strengthen agricultural and rural development by enabling participants to present scientific papers or engage in conferences and forums locally or internationally. Grants of up to USD 1,200 are available, covering registration fees, materials, and for face‑to‑face events, airfare, accommodation, local transportation, meals not provided by organizers, and visa application costs. The initiative promotes the dissemination of scientific knowledge, fosters dialogue among researchers and practitioners, and facilitates linkages with development organizations and donors. Successful grantees are expected to produce articles, policy briefs, or other publications based on their presented work, contributing to SEARCA’s mission of advancing sustainable agricultural transformation in the region.
Eligibility
Applicants must be nationals of Southeast Asian countries, specifically Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor‑Leste, or Vietnam. Priority is given to SEARCA Fellows, graduate scholarship alumni, researchers involved in SEARCA projects, SFRT grantees, proponents from the University Consortium, ongoing SEARCA scholars, and faculty or staff from universities supported under SEARCA’s Institutional Development Assistance Program. Additional consideration may be extended to staff of nonprofit development‑oriented institutions and graduate students from agricultural universities outside the University Consortium. While priority is placed on paper presentations, poster presentations may be considered depending on application volume, and in certain cases, attendance without a paper presentation may be supported if it is expected to establish formal partnerships, collaborations, or significant development impacts.
