Open Call for Business Innovation Synergizer Grants
About
The Business Innovation Synergizer (BIS), part of the Media Innovation Europe 2026–2028 programme, provides financial and mentoring support to professional media organisations seeking to implement validated business ideas that strengthen sustainability, digital transformation, and long-term growth. Grants of up to €30,000 are available, with no co-financing requirement. Projects may run for up to 12 months between January and December 2027.
The programme supports initiatives that enhance digital readiness, financial sustainability, and operational resilience. Eligible activities include developing innovative business models, diversifying revenue streams, improving audience engagement, producing digital products and services, strengthening organisational workflows, and building professional capacity. In addition to funding, selected organisations will benefit from one-to-one mentoring, tailored workshops, and networking opportunities with peers across Europe.
Eligibility
Applicants must be legally registered professional media organisations located in one of the 27 EU member states or eligible partner countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Iceland, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, and Ukraine). Organisations must demonstrate annual revenue exceeding €80,000, employ at least five full-time staff members, and have been established before 1 January 2025.
Applications will undergo a two-stage selection process: initial evaluation followed by a one-month preparation programme with mentoring and workshops. Shortlisted applicants will refine their proposals before presenting them to an evaluation panel. Required documents include the completed application form, budget proposal, registration papers, proof of establishment, financial statements for 2025, a recent tax compliance certificate, and the organisation’s organisational chart. All submissions must be completed in English via the designated online platform.
