The Impact Grant Program (IGP) 2026 supports educators and education stakeholders in underserved rural communities across Nigeria to improve learning outcomes for children and young people in primary and secondary education. The program aims to empower teachers and school leaders to address barriers to learning, bridge the digital divide, strengthen instructional quality, and promote equity and resilience among students and their families. A total funding envelope of ₦6 million will be distributed among 26 successful applicants through three funding tiers, including Trailblazer Grants of ₦500,000 each, while awards in other tiers will be determined according to project scope, cost, and expected impact. The program supports both transformative large-scale initiatives and smaller projects that respond to urgent educational challenges in rural schools. Funded activities may include interventions that enhance access to quality education, improve teaching and learning practices, expand digital inclusion, and strengthen educational opportunities for disadvantaged learners in rural Nigeria.

Eligibility

Applicants must be actively engaged in Nigeria’s education sector and work directly with, or contribute to, the learning and development of children and young people enrolled in primary or secondary education. Eligible applicants must serve rural, underserved, or educationally disadvantaged communities and demonstrate a genuine financial need for grant support. Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received funding through the Impact Grant Program; however, previous fellows and grantees remain eligible to apply. Applications will be assessed based on the proposed project’s relevance to program objectives, anticipated impact, demonstrated need, and the appropriateness of the project scope and budget.
