The World Food Programme (WFP) invites Expressions of Interest from Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) to implement social and behaviour change communication (SBCC) activities under the Nutri-Cash programme in Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, Uganda. This initiative seeks to improve maternal, infant, young child, and adolescent nutrition practices among refugees and host communities through community-driven approaches. The programme will strengthen nutrition education, care groups, referrals to health and nutrition services, and promote positive practices in maternal and child nutrition, health, hygiene, and caregiving. It also aims to enhance the impact of cash assistance programmes by fostering improved knowledge, attitudes, and practices in nutrition, WASH, child protection, gender, and Ebola virus disease, while supporting community-led planning, accountability frameworks, and learning models to inform future interventions. The indicative budget is 70,000,000 (subject to availability of funds), supporting SBCC activities that complement Nutri-Cash interventions and contribute to improved nutrition outcomes among pregnant and breastfeeding women, children under two years of age, and other children enrolled in nutrition programmes. Projects are expected to deliver measurable improvements in nutrition outcomes through innovative, sustainable, and community-based approaches.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to Community-Based Organizations with a formal presence and operational capacity in Bidibidi Refugee Settlement. Applicants must demonstrate expertise in nutrition and SBCC approaches, strong local networks, and experience engaging refugee and host communities. They should also show capacity to design and implement clear activities with realistic timelines and sustainability strategies, while prior experience collaborating with the United Nations or similar international partners is considered an asset. Proposals will be evaluated on cost-effectiveness, sector expertise, relevance to expected results, local presence, clarity of activities and outcomes, innovative methods, realistic timelines, and sustainability of interventions.
