Grant Size Not Available   ,   Closing Date

About

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) invites applications for innovative initiatives that reduce plastic waste generation and promote sustainable alternatives through circular economy approaches in Sierra Leone. The program supports the identification, testing, piloting, and demonstration of innovative solutions to phase out plastic pollution while strengthening the national plastic waste management ecosystem. It seeks to foster stakeholder engagement, public awareness, knowledge sharing, learning, and networking to sustain long-term action against plastic pollution. Supported projects will implement capacity-building activities in partnership with UNDP, develop knowledge products, document lessons learned and best practices, and contribute to regional and global learning by sharing results with other countries through a global workshop. Priority activities include piloting one innovative solution to address plastic pollution, conducting stakeholder engagement and awareness-raising initiatives, undertaking participatory monitoring and evaluation, and producing technical, financial, and learning reports. Projects will be implemented in Sierra Leone over a period of nine months from the date of agreement signing.
