The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking qualified partners to support the delivery of life-saving nutrition assistance across Sudan, with a focus on conflict-affected and highly food-insecure areas, including Aj Jazirah, Darfur, Kordofan, and other hard-to-reach locations. The initiative aims to address the escalating malnutrition crisis driven by prolonged conflict, displacement, food insecurity, and limited access to essential health and nutrition services. Through an integrated response, partners will provide food and nutrition assistance using both in-kind food distributions and cash-based transfers, complemented by nutrition education and social and behaviour change interventions. The programme prioritizes children aged 6 to 59 months and pregnant and breastfeeding women and girls who face the highest risks of malnutrition and nutrition-related mortality. Geographic targeting will be informed by IPC Acute Food Insecurity analyses, SMART survey findings, and Nutrition Cluster prioritization processes to ensure resources reach populations experiencing the most severe convergence of food insecurity and Global Acute Malnutrition. The intervention seeks to save lives, prevent famine-related mortality, improve nutrition outcomes, strengthen resilience, and contribute to longer-term sustainable development objectives. Eligibility

Eligible applicants are organizations capable of implementing large-scale emergency nutrition and food assistance activities in Sudan, particularly in high-burden and hard-to-reach areas. Applicants should demonstrate technical expertise in nutrition programming, including the prevention and treatment of malnutrition, food assistance delivery, nutrition education, and social and behaviour change interventions. Organizations must have the operational capacity to reach vulnerable populations, especially children under five years of age and pregnant and breastfeeding women and girls affected by conflict, displacement, and food insecurity. Proposals will be assessed on their ability to deliver integrated food security and nutrition interventions, align with geographic and vulnerability-based targeting approaches, coordinate effectively with humanitarian partners and cluster mechanisms, and contribute to harmonized efforts addressing areas with the greatest overlap of food insecurity and acute malnutrition.
