UN Women invites proposals from civil society organizations to support the design and implementation of local care systems in the cities of Portoviejo and Cuenca, Ecuador. The initiative seeks to strengthen local care ecosystems through the development of diagnostic assessments and care maps, the participatory formulation of local care policies, the creation of management models and legal instruments, and the analysis of costs, financing mechanisms, and sustainability strategies. The program aims to ensure the quality, accessibility, and long-term continuity of care services at the local level. Projects will be implemented in Portoviejo and Cuenca, Ecuador, and should contribute to building evidence-based, sustainable, and gender-responsive care systems. Funding will support the delivery of the technical services outlined in the call. The grant size and project duration should be consulted in the official application documents.

Eligibility

Applicants must be legally established civil society organizations eligible to operate in Ecuador. UN Women particularly encourages applications from women-led and women-focused organizations. Organizations must demonstrate compliance with all mandatory requirements and preliminary qualification criteria specified in the call documentation, including adequate organizational experience, financial capacity and stability, proven technical expertise relevant to the assignment, and satisfactory references from previous clients. Proposals will be assessed based on the applicant’s technical qualifications, organizational capacity, financial soundness, and ability to successfully deliver the requested services in accordance with the terms and requirements of the call.
