Grants for AI-Enabled COVID-19 Treatment Research
About
Pfizer is offering competitive grants to support research projects that advance safe and timely COVID‑19 treatment through artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced clinical decision support systems. The program prioritizes initiatives that improve access to antiviral therapy, optimize patient eligibility assessment, and enhance management of drug–drug interactions to ensure effective disease management. A particular focus is placed on the use of Nirmatrelvir/Ritonavir for high‑risk patients, emphasizing early treatment within five days of symptom onset to reduce severe outcomes, hospitalization, and mortality. Projects may request up to $500,000 USD in funding, with a maximum duration of two years. The geographic scope includes Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Greece, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, and supported activities must align with the program’s goals of leveraging AI and clinical tools to improve COVID‑19 treatment outcomes.
