Call for Child and Family Friendly Model Villages in Sindh (Pakistan)

The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is inviting applications to establish integrated model villages in Sindh, Pakistan aimed at improving child and community well-being through multi-sectoral services. The program seeks to deliver equitable, child-friendly, gender-responsive, and sustainable systems across health, nutrition, education, protection, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). Target beneficiaries include children, adolescents, women, and vulnerable groups in underserved communities. The initiative will strengthen service delivery in areas such as maternal and newborn health, immunization, nutrition, early childhood development, education in emergencies, climate-related actions, and child protection. Expected outcomes include improved access to quality health and nutrition services, inclusive and resilient education opportunities, enhanced child protection mechanisms, and increased access to safely managed WASH services. The program emphasizes community ownership through functional sectoral committees and youth engagement, while fostering collaboration among government, private sector, UN agencies, civil society, and community-based organizations. The ultimate goal is to create a scalable, field-tested model that informs policy and integrates into national systems. The indicative grant size is approximately ETB 20.5 million, with an implementation period of 18 months.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants include legally registered non-governmental organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations, and community-based organizations with proven capacity to implement multi-sectoral programs in Pakistan. Applicants must demonstrate experience in child-focused interventions, community mobilization, and coordination with government institutions. Strong safeguarding policies, gender-responsive approaches, and familiarity with national referral mechanisms will be considered important advantages. Proposals will be evaluated based on organizational capacity, technical expertise, sustainability of interventions, and ability to foster community ownership and measurable impact.
