Applications open for Research Equipment Program
About
The Research Equipment Program supports scientific research and education in Latin America by providing essential equipment that is often difficult to obtain locally. Through donations or purchases, the program enhances research capacity and educational opportunities by supplying items such as microscopes, GPS units, mist nets, video cameras, binoculars, and science textbooks. The equipment and literature are selected to serve a wide range of projects, students, and research groups, ensuring broad impact across the region. The program committee works closely with successful applicants to identify the most reliable and cost-effective delivery method, with preference given to delivery through representatives or colleagues traveling from the United States.
Eligibility
Applicants must be researchers based in Latin America and affiliated with a recognized university or conservation organization. Applications are reviewed by the program committee, which evaluates institutional affiliation and capacity to utilize the equipment effectively. Collaboration with the committee is required to finalize delivery arrangements.
