Call for Integrated Community Interventions for WASH, Nutrition, Disease Surveillance, and Immunization in Togo
About
The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) invites expressions of interest from qualified organizations to implement integrated community-based interventions in the Savanes, Kara, and Maritime regions of Togo. The program aims to improve public health outcomes through the sustainable elimination of open defecation, prevention of malnutrition, strengthening of community-based surveillance for epidemic-prone diseases, and promotion of vaccination among children, particularly those who are zero-dose or under-vaccinated. The initiative will support improved access to sanitation and hygiene services, reinforce infection prevention and control practices in communities and health facilities, enhance disease detection and reporting systems, strengthen nutrition services, and expand immunization coverage through community engagement and social marketing approaches. Expected outcomes include certification of communities as open defecation free, increased use of improved sanitation facilities and handwashing stations, stronger community health indicators, earlier detection and reporting of epidemic-prone diseases, improved referral and management of acute malnutrition cases, and expanded community outreach for routine immunization. Funding and project duration are not specified in the call. Eligible activities include WASH interventions, nutrition programming, community-based disease surveillance, vaccination promotion, social and behavior change activities, community mobilization, and monitoring and reporting of results.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are organizations with demonstrated experience in implementing integrated, multi-sectoral programs in the areas of health, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and community engagement within Togo. Preference will be given to organizations with proven operational presence and experience in the targeted regions of Savanes, Kara, and Maritime. Applicants must demonstrate strong capacity for community mobilization, program implementation, monitoring, data collection, and reporting against relevant performance indicators. Proposals will be assessed based on the organization’s technical expertise, relevant experience, operational capacity, understanding of the local context, and ability to effectively deliver the expected results across the targeted intervention sectors.
