Grant Size $10,000 to $100,000   ,   Closing Date

About

The U.S. Department of State, through the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs (WHA) and the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo Public Diplomacy Section, is requesting applications for the U.S.-D.R. Technology and Science Innovation Fair. This initiative aims to strengthen commercial, ecosystem, and people-to-people ties between the United States and the Dominican Republic by positioning the U.S. as a primary partner in technology, entrepreneurship, and emerging industries. The project will support the organization and coordination of a large-scale public event featuring interactive technology exhibitions, corporate demonstrations, panel discussions on U.S. leadership in fields like semiconductors and artificial intelligence, networking sessions, and mentorship activities. Geographically focused on the Dominican Republic, the program seeks to engage at least 500 target beneficiaries, including university students, young professionals, startup founders, and STEM experts, connecting them with U.S. companies, academic opportunities, and professional development pathways. Total available funding for this opportunity is $80,000, with individual awards ranging from $30,000 to $80,000 to support project activities for a duration of up to two years, starting in July 2027.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are limited to U.S. and Dominican registered entities, including not-for-profit organizations, chambers of commerce, business associations, entrepreneurship and innovation hubs, technology and startup incubators or accelerators, higher education institutions, alumni associations, and civil society organizations. To be considered for funding, applicants must demonstrate a proven track record in executing large-scale public events, coordinating complex logistics, engaging private-sector stakeholders, and managing vendor relations and public outreach. Evaluation preference will be given to organizations that exhibit strong, existing expertise in managing youth, entrepreneurship, innovation, workforce development, or STEM-related initiatives.
