The Southeast Asia Gender-Based Violence Prevention Platform invites applications for Demonstrate Grant Stream 1, designed to strengthen evidence and knowledge-sharing on effective primary prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) across Southeast Asia. The program supports projects that document and disseminate practical insights into what works to prevent GBV, with a particular focus on marginalized groups including women with disabilities and LGBTQIA+ communities. Grants will fund initiatives that build on existing or recently completed prevention efforts, addressing contexts such as intimate partner violence, climate-related GBV, technology-facilitated GBV, and intersections between violence against women and violence against children.

Funding ranges from AUD 20,000–30,000 for projects lasting 4 to 10 months, with an additional flexible core funding allocation of 25% of the grant value. Eligible activities include documenting prevention models, evaluating initiatives, gathering community perspectives, producing evidence reports, developing practical tools, and sharing lessons to support broader adoption of effective GBV prevention approaches. Implementation is expected to begin in February 2027 following due diligence and partnership assessments.

Eligibility

Applicants must be legally operating civil society, non-governmental, or nonprofit organisations based in Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, or Vietnam. Priority will be given to women’s rights organisations, civil society groups, and organisations led by and working with structurally marginalised women, girls, and gender-diverse people. Organisations without legal registration may apply through a fiscal sponsor. International NGOs, UN agencies, and government agencies are not eligible.

Applications will be evaluated on alignment with program objectives, contextual relevance, methodological quality, potential for knowledge sharing and impact, safeguarding and ethical practices, inclusion and equity, partnerships, organisational capacity, and budget efficiency. Completed applications must be submitted via the MIS Grants Portal by August 23, 2026. Shortlisted applicants will be notified by October 19, 2026.
