About

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) invites proposals from qualified firms and organizations to pilot and scale innovative, community‑centered waste management solutions in informal settlements across Cape Town, South Africa. This initiative seeks to address pressing waste management challenges in rapidly growing urban areas, with a strong emphasis on improving environmental outcomes and enhancing community well‑being. Selected service providers will design and implement interventions that foster sustainable waste practices, strengthen community participation, and contribute to cleaner, healthier living environments. The contract duration is six months, with the duty station based in Cape Town.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are legally registered firms or organizations with the capacity to enter into binding contracts with UNDP. Applicants must not appear on any UN or World Bank ineligibility lists and must comply with the United Nations Supplier Code of Conduct. Proposers should demonstrate proven experience and technical expertise in waste management, community engagement, and innovation. Proposals will be assessed on organizational capacity, technical quality, and the ability to deliver impactful, community‑driven waste management solutions.
