Call for Proposals: Lao Ecology Small Grant Program Phase 3
About
The Lao Ecology Small Grant Program Phase 3 (LESGP3), financed by The McConnell Foundation and implemented by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), aims to strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations in Lao PDR to address pressing environmental challenges. Modeled on the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) approach, the program supports projects within the Indo‑Burma Hotspot, focusing on biodiversity conservation, sustainable natural resource management, and waste management. Eligible activities include species conservation, village forest management, participatory management of protected areas, environmental education, non‑timber forest product management and marketing, community fisheries, ecotourism, pollution control, and solid waste management. Grants of up to US$25,000 are available per proposal, with projects to be implemented within Lao PDR over a maximum duration of 12 months. Funded projects are expected to commence on 1 January 2027.
Eligibility
Applications are open to local civil society organizations (CSOs) and non‑governmental organizations (NGOs) that are legally registered and headquartered in Lao PDR. Projects must be implemented within the country, with no additional geographic restrictions. Each applicant may submit multiple proposals; however, only one grant will be awarded per organization under this call.
