The Henry Moore Foundation invites applications for the Henry Moore Grants, designed to advance the growth and development of sculpture across historical, modern, and contemporary contexts while supporting research that deepens public appreciation of the art form. The program funds a wide range of activities including exhibitions, exhibition catalogues, sculpture commissions, conferences, research projects, non-commercial publications, acquisitions, conservation, cataloguing, display, and long-term research initiatives related to sculpture. It also provides support for research and travel by sculpture historians, academics, and conservators engaged in conservation, production, history, and interpretation.

Grants are awarded across several categories: New Projects and Commissions, Acquisitions and Collections, and Long-Term Research (up to £20,000 each), and Conferences, Lectures, and Publications (up to £5,000). Applications are reviewed quarterly, with the Autumn 2026 round open from August 1 to September 1, 2026, for projects beginning or opening to the public no earlier than January 1, 2027. Through this funding, the Foundation seeks to encourage innovative thinking about sculpture, strengthen collections and research, and enhance public awareness and appreciation of the field.

Eligibility

Applications are open to UK and international non-profit organizations for eligible project categories. Research and Travel grants are available exclusively to individual sculpture historians, academics, and conservators. Community projects may apply only when submitted by a registered non-profit arts organization.

The Foundation does not fund residency programmes, central or building costs, traditional memorials or figurative statues, commercial publishing projects, play equipment, community gardens, wellbeing activities, or applications from individuals seeking to create, inform, or research their own artistic practice. All organizations must be registered through the Foundation’s Flexi-Grant portal to apply, with registration requests submitted at least one week before the relevant deadline. Applications are reviewed four times annually, and while the Foundation can advise on project eligibility, it cannot provide guidance on funding outcomes.
