Large Research Grants for Animal Welfare Science
About
Science for Animal Welfare’s Large Research Grants support scientific projects that expand knowledge of animals’ needs and improve their welfare. The program funds research addressing challenges faced by animals impacted by human activity, including farmed, companion, laboratory, captive wild, and free‑living wild species. Grants are awarded for projects requesting more than £5,000, with flexible scope to accommodate diverse research approaches. The initiative is global in reach, aiming to generate evidence‑based insights that directly contribute to better welfare outcomes and inform policy, practice, and advocacy.
