Call for Nominations: Henri Boulard Award
About
Entries are now open for the Henri Boulard Award to recognize local initiatives dedicated to protecting microbiota and preserving human global health.
The award supports projects under three major themes: Microbiota & Human Health, which focuses on addressing local medical unmet needs related to microbiota; Microbiota & Antimicrobial Resistance, which promotes better use of antimicrobial agents to help prevent antimicrobial resistance and Human Microbiota & Environmental Concerns, which addresses the elimination of pharmaceutical residues and their byproducts in wastewater from human, agricultural, or livestock sources within a One Health framework.
Every year, five selected projects receive funding of €10,000 each. The grant is distributed in two installments, with €8,000 awarded at the beginning of the project and the remaining €2,000 released after 12 months upon submission of a project report.
The award encourages initiatives ranging from water purification efforts to health education programs, provided the project demonstrates a clear link to microbiota protection and improved public health outcomes. Applicants must clearly explain the tools and methods that will be used to address the identified problem.
Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must be health professionals applying on behalf of an association, hospital, institution, or research organization. The proposed project must respond to a local unmet need in human health and must be implemented in one of the eligible countries, including India and several countries across Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East and Africa.
Projects that are not connected to microbiota, clinical evaluations of drugs or medical devices, pre-clinical studies, applications using personal bank accounts, projects from previous Henri Boulard Award winners, and projects already supported or submitted by international non-governmental organizations are not eligible for consideration.
