Funding available for Strengthening National Protection System Against Violence (Dominican Republic)
About
The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund has announced a new funding opportunity in the Dominican Republic, specifically targeting the province of Sánchez Ramírez.
The initiative focuses on child protection and the prevention and response to violence, aiming to strengthen the national protection system through the implementation of a strategic framework. With an allocation of 40,200 in funding, the project will reinforce multisectoral collaboration to safeguard children and adolescents from violence.
The first expected result of this program is the establishment of an operational mechanism under the coordination of CONANI. This mechanism will guide the implementation of actions outlined in the Strategic Framework for Strengthening the National Protection System for Children and Adolescents against Violence. Running from September 2025 to February 2026, the plan includes hiring and transitioning a dedicated coordination team to CONANI by March 2026, in line with national administrative standards. A comprehensive work plan for this period will also be developed and approved, ensuring clear direction and accountability.
The second result focuses on deepening the framework’s impact by developing operational plans aligned with prioritized sectors. These plans will ensure that the actions identified in the strategic framework are effectively implemented across multiple stakeholders. Alongside these, a monitoring and evaluation framework will be created, providing a structured model for measuring progress and ensuring the sustainability of efforts. Additionally, the program will produce a final report, capturing lessons learned, challenges, and recommendations to further strengthen the protection system.
