The UN Women Bangladesh, in partnership with the European Union, seeks a CSO to implement Output 2.1 of the project - Ending Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in Public Spaces, workplace and educational institutions.

The project strengthens institutional mechanisms in workplaces, educational institutions, and public spaces to prevent and respond to violence against women. It promotes evidence-based prevention to transform institutional norms and practices.

Funding Information
  • The budget ranges from BDT 45,000,000 to 46,500,000.

Expected Outcomes
  • Outcome 1: National gender-responsive laws, policies, and budgets are better formulated, adopted and implemented in institutions by government actors to prevent sexual and gender-based violence in public spaces, at workplaces and in tertiary educational institutions.

  • Outcome 2: University Grants Commission, selected tertiary educational institutions, and public sector workplaces in Bangladesh have improved attitudes and behaviour to prevent sexual and gender-based violence in public spaces, at workplaces and in tertiary educational institutions.

  • Outcome 3: Civil society and women’s rights organisations, organisations of persons with disabilities, and youth networks play an enhanced role in ending sexual and gender-based violence specifically related to public spaces, workplaces and tertiary educational institutions.

Eligibility

  • Proposals can only be submitted by non-governmental organizations registered in Bangladesh.

  • The organization can submit the proposal as an individual entity or as a consortium. For a consortium, there must be a lead agency, and all other participating agencies must comply with eligibility criteria. The Lead agency will submit the proposal on behalf of the consortium. The detail of the consortium partner/s and the scope, result area of work of the partner within the project framework need to be mentioned in the proposal. Coordination and monitoring mechanism among the partners also need to be detail out in the proposal. Local women led organization or national/local youth organizations is /are preferable as consortium partners(s). The organization may partner with an organization that has expertise on organizing social behaviour communication campaign applying innovation and using different medium (online and online platform).

  • The organization should have been in operation for at least 10 years, with 5 years relevant experience to work on prevention and response to gender-based violence/violence against women and girls, social norm change and promotion of gender equality and women empowerment.

  • The organization should have experience working with national and local government, local administration, especially the Ministry of Women and Children affairs, the Department of Women Affairs (DWA), Ministry of Local Government and the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ministry of Education.

    The organization should have past partnership with the stakeholders in education sector, public transport sector and experience to work on public place safety.
