The Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Erbil has opened a call for proposals for Small Scale Projects in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq for 2026.

The focus is on useful contribution to the local community and smaller development activities, in line with the country’s national development plan, focusing on education and health sector, renovating or upgrade, support of development activities of local institutions and organizations, participation in larger projects, etc.; sustainability.

Local organizations legally registered in Iraq or the Kurdistan Region of Iraq are invited to submit their proposals using the designated SSP Identification Form, which must be completed, stamped, and signed in English, submitted both in paper form and as a scanned electronic version. Non-governmental organizations must include a copy of their legal entity documentation and an authorization confirming that the signatory is empowered to act on behalf of the organization in Iraq or KRI.

The funding for selected projects ranges from 200,000 to 500,000 CZK, providing vital development support directly tied to project implementation. Only expenses linked to the actual development activities of the implementing organization are eligible; overhead or capacity-building costs are not covered. Applications must reach the Consulate by close of business on September 30, 2025.
