Call for EOIs: Integrated Health and Nutrition Services in Gaza (Palestine)
About
The United Nations Children’s Fund is requesting applications to support integrated health and nutrition services aimed at strengthening maternal and child health outcomes in Gaza.
The focus areas include child health, general nutrition services, and the delivery of integrated health and nutrition interventions for infants, children, adolescents, pregnant women, and breastfeeding women.
This initiative seeks to strengthen nutrition-related policies and institutional capacity within the Ministry of Health and key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of quality, gender-sensitive essential nutrition services. It also aims to improve awareness on nurturing care at the family level, particularly for disadvantaged groups.
The programme is designed to enhance access to maternal and child health and nutrition preventive services through the One-Stop Infant and Young Child Feeding approach. It also supports the provision of lifesaving treatment for acute malnutrition and other essential curative services for children, adolescents, and women in need.
In addition, the initiative focuses on strengthening nutrition information management systems and improving accountability to affected populations through regular reporting. It also expands access to essential health services through mobile clinics and strengthened primary health care facilities.
A strong emphasis is placed on social and behaviour change interventions, including community engagement activities, counselling during household visits, support group sessions, and awareness meetings with community leaders and influencers. These activities are intended to improve infant and young child feeding practices and strengthen community-level health knowledge.
Eligibility
The programme also highlights disability inclusion by ensuring priority access for persons with disabilities and strengthening referral pathways between health and nutrition services. Furthermore, implementing partners are required to adhere to strict standards for the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse, ensuring a safe and accountable humanitarian response environment.
