CFAs: Forest and Farm Facility Direct Beneficiary Grant in Nepal

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is accepting applications for the Forest and Farm Facility Direct Beneficiary Grant.
Objectives
The general objective of this call for competitive grants is to strengthen the capacities of forest and farm producer organizations (FFPOs) for the operation of sustainable and resilient forest and farm enterprises; development of value chains based on agriculture, agroforestry, forestry (timber and non- timber), systems with a demand-based approach, promoting access to markets and finance, improving and diversifying the income and livelihoods of producers sustainable management of forest and farm resources including restoration of associated ecosystems; and the implementation of best agroforestry practices that contribute to sustainability to achieve climate-resilient landscapes and better livelihoods.
The specific objectives are:
Strengthen institutional structures of forest and farm producers with national or subnational representation to achieve impact at the landscape level to influence the formulation and implementation of inclusive policies that promote sustainable management, restoration, use, and for the mobilization of resources on a larger scale.
Development of value chains based on agriculture, agroforestry, forestry (timber and non-timber), systems with market centric approach, promoting access and linkages to markets, improving and diversifying the income and livelihoods of producers, and supporting the promotion and upscaling of sustainable forest and agriculture management systems.
Promote the transformation of sustainable forest and farm production and value addition systems by fostering strategic alliances between forestry and agricultural producer organizations and different levels of government, academia, civil society, and/or the private sector of responsible management to facilitate access to services, traceability, added value and access to markets for the benefit of forest and farm producer organizations.
Funding Information
For FFF Call 2025, it is estimated that a total of five proposals will be selected, with funding of approx. NPR 10 000 000 for each of the proposals.
Outcomes
FFF - Phase II aims to directly strengthen Forest and Farm Producer Organizations (FFPOs) to achieve climate-resilient landscapes and improved livelihoods through four outcomes:
Outcome 1: More enabling policy and legal frameworks for FFPOs delivered through more FFPO-inclusive governance and cross-sectoral processes (SDG 16 & 17).
Outcome 2: Increased entrepreneurship, access to markets and finance through gender equitable value chains delivered through new capacity to provide business incubation within FFPOs (SDG 1, 5, 8 & 12).
Outcome 3: Improved delivery of landscape scale mitigation, adaptation and climate resilience for climate change through direct engagement of FFPOs and integration with inclusive livelihood approaches (SDG 2, 13 & 15).
Outcome 4: Improved and equitable access to social and cultural services (SDG 3 & 10).
Eligibility
Forest and Farm Producer Organisation (FFPOs) are eligible for the 2025 FFF call for applications are:
National level organisation or second tier organizations, such as federations, consortia, cooperatives, collectives, unions, and networks and clusters.
Organizations of the forest, agricultural, and livestock/fisheries systems producers with a national or subnational scope, potential of upscaling, replicating or expanding.
