The World Academy of Sciences for the advancement of science in developing countries (UNESCO-TWAS) aims to build capacity in the global South through research, education, policy and diplomacy.
UNESCO-TWAS, a global science academy, has nearly 1,500 elected Fellows from more than 100 countries; 11 of them are Nobel laureates. UNESCO-TWAS annually offers more than $2 million in research grants and over 500 PhD and postdoctoral fellowships.
