Founded in 2012 by Julien Pierre (then a player for ASM Clermont Auvergne and the French national rugby team) and Pascal Damois (then the new president of the Auvergne Animal Park), Play for Nature first emerged as an association (La Passerelle), then as an endowment fund (La Passerelle Conservation) in 2015. As an endowment fund, Play for Nature is recognized as serving the public interest. It is therefore eligible to receive donations and bequests, and donors (individuals and companies) can benefit from tax advantages.
