Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF) and the Tunisian Country
Support Mechanism (MSP) are pleased to announce a call for expressions of
interest for Tunisian civil society organizations to become a Principal
Recipient of GCERF funding.
The Global Fund for Community Engagement and Resilience Global
Community Engagement and Resilience Fund - GCERF) is an organization
independent multi-stakeholder with the aim of being the world's first aimed at
supporting local and community initiatives to build resilience in the face of
violent extremist inclinations.
GCERF builds community resilience by helping
local and community initiatives to counter the factors contributing to violent
extremism. These initiatives promote social cohesion, the agenda community
and equal opportunities, and the sense of belonging of individuals.
Objectives
GCERF's overall objective in Tunisia is to
support the government in the fight against radicalization and recruitment
into violent extremist groups, by strengthening the resilience of the
community (thus facilitating the reintegration of former members of violent
extremist groups). To restore confidence in governance and security
actors, GCERF intends to focus mainly on its second cycle funding on two
strategic areas of intervention identified upstream: improving social
cohesion and community agency.
