About

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking applications for cooperative agreements from qualified entities to implement the John Ogonowski and Doug Bereuter Farmer-to-Farmer Program.

Objectives

  • The primary goal of F2F is to generate sustainable, broad-based economic growth in the agricultural sector. A secondary goal is to increase the American public’s understanding of international development issues and programs and international understanding of the U.S. and U.S. development programs.

  • F2F objectives are to:

    • increase agricultural sector productivity and profitability;

    • improve conservation and sustainable use of environmental and natural resources;

    • expand sector access to financial services; and

    • strengthen agricultural sector institutions.

Funding Information
  • Award Ceiling: $10,000,000.

Eligibility :
  • Private institutions of higher education

  • Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education

  • For profit organizations other than small businesses

  • Public and State controlled institutions of higher education

  • Additional Information on Eligibility:

    • US Private Voluntary Organization (PVO);

    • a U.S. nonprofitagricultural organization;

    • a US agricultural cooperative; a private U.S. agribusiness oragriculturally-related business or consulting firm; private organization (including grassrootsorganizations with an established and demonstrated capacity to carry out such a bilateralexchange program), private corporation; or a college, university or foundation maintained by acollege or university.

    • Moreover, applicants must have within the past five (5) years a minimum oftwo (2) years’ experience in planning, managing, monitoring, and reporting on internationalagricultural development programs. For profit businesses must waive profits and/or fees to beeligible to submit a Concept Note. USAID strongly encourages applications from new USpartners.

  • Applications may cover multiple regional programs or larger thematic programs in a given region. Regional program categories are listed:

    • East Africa

    • Southern Africa

    • West Africa

    • Caribbean Basin

    • Other – may include Country F2F Programs in core countries in: a) Middle East & North Africa; b) Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia; c) Latin America; d) Asia; or e) countries across multiple regions.
