من نحن

The Sustainable Livelihoods Programme (SLP) invites applications from non-profit organisations to deliver nutritional support and developmental services through Community Nutritional and Development Centres (CNDCs) in the Western Cape. The programme aims to strengthen household resilience and promote well-being, social inclusion, and self-reliance among vulnerable individuals. Funding will support activities such as meal preparation and provision at CNDCs or community kitchens, beneficiary engagement, referral linkages to support services, community participation, and complementary developmental initiatives. Where feasible, organisations may also implement skills development and income-generating projects to enhance livelihoods.

Grants are available for a minimum of one year and up to three years, with funded organisations required to enter into a Transfer Payment Agreement with the Department of Social Development. Supported projects must maintain daily attendance registers, beneficiary records, and submit quarterly progress reports. Organisations are also expected to participate in stakeholder engagements and ensure services are delivered in identified areas across the Western Cape.

معايير القبول

Eligible applicants must be registered as a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO), Voluntary Association, Non-Profit Company (NPC), or Trust, and must comply with the NPO Act and previous funding requirements. Applicants must demonstrate capacity to prepare meals in line with Sustainable Livelihoods Norms and Standards, operate suitable food premises with health and safety certification, and maintain appropriate storage and refrigeration facilities. Organisations must also have emergency plans, fire extinguishers, first aid equipment, accessible sites, and systems for maintaining beneficiary records.

Applicants should have experience in community development projects, the ability to link beneficiaries with other services, and capacity to implement complementary developmental activities. Preference will be given to organisations preparing and serving meals directly at CNDCs or community kitchens. Proposals involving large-scale transportation of cooked meals will generally not be considered, except under exceptional circumstances. Applications will be assessed based on organisational capacity, compliance, service delivery approach, and ability to support beneficiaries through nutritional and developmental interventions.
