Grant for Protection, Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Properties Outside Japan
من نحن
The Sumitomo Foundation Cultural Heritage Conservation Grant (SFCHCG) 2026 supports the protection, preservation, and restoration of tangible cultural properties of artistic or academic value located outside Japan. The program aims to safeguard cultural heritage considered part of humanity’s shared legacy and ensure its transmission to future generations. Funding is available for conservation and restoration projects involving historic fine arts, archaeological materials, murals, sculptures, and other tangible cultural assets associated with structures, buildings, or archaeological sites. Preliminary surveys directly linked to eligible conservation activities may also be supported. The fiscal year 2026 program has a total budget of JPY 35 million, with approximately 15 projects expected to receive support. Grants are provided for a one-year implementation period from March 2027 to March 2028. Projects focused solely on the preservation of entire archaeological sites or digital preservation activities are not eligible for funding.
