Pfizer Grant for Advancing Preventive Expertise in Pediatric Infectious Diseases (Japan)

The Pfizer Independent Medical Education (IME) Grant Program supports initiatives that strengthen healthcare professionals’ expertise in preventive strategies for pediatric infectious diseases in Japan. The program focuses on key areas including pneumococcal disease, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection, and COVID-19 infection. Grants aim to advance the quality of preventive strategies by equipping physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals with advanced knowledge of epidemiological trends, vaccine effectiveness and safety, maternal immunization, and domestic and international guidelines for infectious disease prevention. Supported projects should translate scientific knowledge into clinical practice and community healthcare at a national scale, ultimately improving pediatric infectious disease prevention. Funding requests up to 30,000,000 JPY will be considered, with a maximum project duration of two years.

Eligible applicants include medical, dental, nursing, allied health, and pharmacy professional schools; healthcare institutions; professional organizations and medical societies; medical education companies; and other entities with a mission related to healthcare professional education. Only organizations are eligible to receive grants; individuals and independent medical practice groups are not eligible. The requesting organization must play a central role in the project, and the project lead must be an employee or contractor of the applicant organization. Proposals must focus on independent medical education initiatives that contribute to healthcare professional development and healthcare improvement.
