Climate Intervention Environmental Impact Fund
من نحن
he Climate Intervention Environmental Impact Fund seeks applications to support EIA, predictive impact modeling, and stakeholder engagement for climate intervention field tests.
The Climate Intervention Environmental Impact Fund (CIEIF) advances responsible field testing of climate intervention technologies by supporting rigorous environmental impact assessments and stakeholder engagement. The fund aims to set a standard for transparency and scientific rigor in the emerging field of climate intervention, with a strong emphasis on the publication and peer review of results to inform future research and policy.
Applicants must propose a climate intervention field test that prioritizes at least one of the following: environmental impact assessment (EIA), predictive impact modeling, or engagement with potentially impacted stakeholders, including local communities and government agencies. The program places high value on the scalability and innovation of proposed interventions, as well as the applicant’s willingness to publish results in peer-reviewed venues or as externally reviewed reports.
Each grant provides $75,000, primarily to be used for EIA, predictive impact modeling, and/or stakeholder engagement activities. The grant is disbursed in three installments: an initial third upon approval, with subsequent payments tied to negotiated project benchmarks. Annual renewal of funding is possible based on progress and outcomes.
Eligible applicants must clearly describe the nature of their entity, provide a website, and submit a detailed proposal addressing technical readiness, siting, anticipated challenges, scalability, and a rough budget. Applications must be in English and address ten specific questions outlined by CIEIF, including prior research, permitting, consultant identification, and willingness to publish results. There is no standard application form; applicants should contact the program manager before submission to discuss delivery. Use of AI in application materials is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification.
