من نحن

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is inviting expressions of interest from qualified organizations to implement a financial inclusion and livelihood support initiative aimed at strengthening the retention and motivation of community-based volunteers (CBVs) and young peer educators in Zambia. The program will focus on rural and hard-to-reach communities across Lusaka, Copperbelt, and Luapula Provinces, with particular attention to women and vulnerable groups. Through a tiered capacity-building approach, the initiative will improve access to financial literacy training, savings mechanisms, financial inclusion services, and livelihood opportunities to enhance participants’ economic resilience. Activities will support the establishment and sustainability of savings groups and cooperatives, provide coaching and milestone-based seed support, facilitate pathways to insurance services, and promote the use of formal and digital financial services. The program also seeks to generate evidence on the effectiveness of financial inclusion interventions in improving volunteer retention, while leveraging digital technologies to monitor skills development and connect participants with livelihood and entrepreneurship opportunities. At least 100 high-performing participants will receive advanced support through livelihood strengthening pathways. Grant size and project duration were not specified in the call.
