CAF Annual Sport Expense and Participation Grants (CAF-SEPG)
من نحن
The CAF Annual Sport Expense and Participation Grants (CAF-SEPG), offered by the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), provide financial assistance to athletes with permanent physical disabilities to reduce financial barriers to participation in adaptive sports. The program supports individuals worldwide in remaining active, developing their athletic potential, and pursuing competitive or recreational sports goals. Grants of up to USD 1,500 may be used to cover sport-related expenses such as travel to competitions, including flights and accommodation, event registration fees, coaching and training costs, and minor equipment purchases needed to maintain existing adaptive sports equipment, such as replacement tires or parts. The initiative focuses on enhancing access to adaptive sports opportunities and promoting continued participation in athletic activities for people with permanent physical disabilities.
معايير القبول
Applications are open to individual athletes worldwide who have a permanent physical disability. Applicants must submit medical verification of their disability, one year of financial documentation, and a letter of recommendation as part of the application process. Organizations, teams, clubs, and other group entities are not eligible to apply. The program does not support individuals whose primary disability is related to hearing impairment, intellectual disability, or developmental disability. During the review process, consideration is given to the applicant’s demonstrated need for financial support and the relevance of the requested expenses to sports participation. Funding is limited to eligible sport-related costs; expenses such as coaches’ travel, extended lodging, medical or rehabilitation services, nutritional supplements, uniforms, technology purchases, and personal expenses unrelated to sport or competition are not supported.
