Gottlieb Foundation Individual Support Grant Program
من نحن
The Gottlieb Foundation Individual Support Grant Program aims to recognize and support serious, fully committed visual artists regardless of commercial success, while taking into account their current financial need. The funding scope provides twenty grants annually—traditionally valued at $25,000 each—to support individual studio practice rather than specific exhibitions, installations, or public projects. The target beneficiaries are dedicated painters, sculptors, and printmakers who have pursued their artistic discipline for at least 20 years. While the geographic focus supports eligible practitioners broadly, the program specifically funds core fine art creation within the mediums of painting, sculpture, and printmaking, with photography, film, video, and related forms considered only if the work directly involves or can be interpreted as painting or sculpture. Eligible activities center on sustaining the artist's ongoing creative work, and applications are evaluated through a rigorous review process conducted by a panel of five independent arts professionals.
معايير القبول
Applicants must be individual painters, sculptors, or printmakers who have worked in a mature phase of their art for at least 20 years and can demonstrate current financial need. Organizations, educational institutions, students, graphic artists, and individuals working in crafts are strictly ineligible to apply. Furthermore, work focused primarily on photography, film, video, exhibitions, installations, or general project-based funding is excluded unless it directly qualifies as painting or sculpture. Applicants who have previously received an Individual Support Grant from the Foundation three or more times are also ineligible. Evaluation considerations emphasize the artist's long-term commitment, the maturity and seriousness of their body of work, and documented financial necessity.
