The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) invites applications from experienced documentary producers to develop two short documentary films showcasing the implementation, achievements, and impact of the Safer Campuses and Integrated Safe School Initiatives in Tanzania. These initiatives seek to create safe, supportive, and protective learning environments where young people can thrive free from violence, bullying, HIV-related risks, and other threats. The assignment will document the experiences and perspectives of students, educators, and key stakeholders while highlighting efforts to strengthen safeguarding systems, practices, and institutional capacities across Tanzania’s education sector. The project is focused on Tanzania and requires the production of two brief documentaries. The assignment is expected to be completed within 25 working days during the period from September to November 2026. Eligible activities include documentary planning, filming, editing, storytelling, stakeholder interviews, and the production of final audiovisual content that effectively communicates project outcomes and impact.

معايير القبول

Applicants must be documentary producers or production teams with a minimum of three years of professional experience in documentary or film production and a proven track record demonstrated through a portfolio of comparable assignments. Preference will be given to applicants with experience producing documentaries related to youth, education, health, gender, safeguarding, or other social development issues, particularly within educational settings. Candidates must demonstrate strong technical and creative production capacity, a clear understanding of the assignment objectives, a compelling creative concept, and a well-defined methodology and work plan. Experience working with government institutions or development partners in Tanzania is required, along with a demonstrated understanding of safeguarding principles and ethical documentation practices. Proposals will be assessed based on relevant experience, technical quality, creative approach, methodological soundness, and capacity to deliver the assignment effectively within the specified timeframe.
